Job Search Support for Newly Unemployed Professionals

 

 

 

JEST Management Services have been contracted by the Department of Work and Pensions in the UK to provide services to newly unemployed professionals who have registered with Jobcentre Plus. The service is part of the government’s response to economic downturn and is targeted principally at professional or executive jobseekers in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) who have become unemployed after a period of long term employment. What is offered is a one-day package of focused, intensive job search support for those individuals. By providing them with appropriate knowledge and skills, the aim is to enable these individuals to identify and secure relevant jobs using up-to-date job search techniques and to be able to exploit diverse recruitment channels.

 

A wide range of information is available including the following areas:

• Personal Stocktaking

• Labour Market

• New Opportunities

• Analysing Vacancies

• Employment Selection Techniques

• Job Applications

• The Interview

• Managing your Campaign

 

The information may be delivered in group sessions, offering the additional opportunity for networking with other professionals, in personal focused face to face sessions or via telephone and internet, depending on the preference of the individual. Whatever the route, a structured personal action plan will be a key outcome of the service.
