Overview

To develop the individual, managers need to use the tools and resources at their disposal. Training needs may come from several sources including those identified from the context of Performance Management, but they may also stem from changing business requirements and from the need for the individual to develop to sustain more demanding roles in the future. Training Needs Analysis and testing of individuals’ range of skills should identify all requirements.

Once needs are identified the best source of training provision needs to identified to satisfy the individual’s needs. Where a need is across a group of people, programmes of activity may need to be managed and where no satisfactory source can be identified bespoke training events may need to be commissioned.
